Getting into tech can feel overwhelming, so start small by building simple weekend projects to explore different parts of the stack, discover what you enjoy, and keep iterating. Don’t let people discourage you about what’s “hard”; sometimes it only clicks once you try (backend architecting did for me). Connect with alums; we’re a diverse group who have either specialized deeply or pivoted across roles/ industries, and we can share insights or advice on transferable skills, exciting projects, emerging technologies, etc!

A valuable skill

I regularly use optimization techniques or alternative approaches to problems. I strongly practiced this skill in full stack and Machine Learning courses.
