Being in tech does not mean you have to to be an engineer or product manager. There are many roles within tech companies that don’t require a technical background, such as sales, marketing, finance, operations, customer support, and HR. But the path to get one of these entry-level jobs requires patience and networking. Most of these jobs are not hired months in advance and are only posted when there’s an immediate need. When you are networking, use that time to learn as much as possible about that person’s role and see if there’s an assignment you can take on to learn more. The path to tech might not seem as straight forward, but it’s definitely possible.
