A message from Melissa

Being First-Gen does not end once you graduate college. It continues into your career. What grounds me is that I remember that these spaces, such as academia and corporate America, weren't build for people like me from marginalized communities. My own existence in these spaces is an act of resistance. However, representation alone is not enough. Use the privilege and power you gain in these positions to uplift your community to join and change these spaces. Gather strength from your roots.
